Esteemed ladies and Gentlemen!
Today we’re pleased to offer an unprecedented licensing opportunity for
four distinct plays that have revolutionized music education and
appreciation for children aged 5-10 throughout Europe. We call it “First
Piano Theatre”—an exciting, engaging, and interactive tool that will
help young children experience the joys of music, as well learn about
history, different cultures, and even fashion.
Since 1994 we’ve delivered more than 4,000 performances of these plays
to 3-4000 elementary schools students across Europe to the delight of
children and teachers alike. (Beside this our German co-workers had
about 2000 performances for 200,000 pupils.) In addition to experiencing
these plays, children have the opportunity to interact in the
performance, delve into a different time, and learn how to appreciate
music and the people who created it.
We can’t begin to describe the excitement and wonder we’ve witnessed in
countless children across Europe as they open themselves to the wonders
of classical music that will last a lifetime.
Our Philosophy
In our combined 50 years of teaching and musical education, we’ve
found that children will not automatically appreciate classical music
simply because they are told to do so. And the longer they go without
appropriate exposure to classical music the more difficult it is for
them to understand its beauty and complexity.
That’s why we’re focused on children aged 5–10 ... and why we’re
focused on helping children understand how to listen to and enjoy
music.
After surveying children who attended our plays, we found that 80% said
that experiencing our performance—which allowed them to hear and see the
music being performed live, in the context of the time, and while
humanizing the composers— was key to their gaining an interest in
classical music. After experiencing our play, for example, Bach is not
an old, boring church musician, but a living, breathing person with joys
and sorrows that are expressed in his music.
We believe -Robert Schumann also said - hearing education should be the
most important goal of music teaching. Children can be taught to
appreciate music by exposure to music just as adults can better
appreciate literature by reading Shakespeare. The way to understanding
is through listening to, hearing, perceiving, thinking, and
understanding. Our "First Piano Theatre" is the first step to
understanding Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and Schubert. And it really
works!
What Children Will Learn and Experience
The aim of our four piano theatre plays is to help children learn about
music without realizing they are learning. We introduce children to the
most basic concepts of classical music—major-minor, modulation, forte,
piano, allegro, adagio, staccato, legato, and the change of rhythm.
Through our four plays—“No Bach Without Laughter”; “Wolfgang and the
Music Dwarf”; “Ludwig and the Lost Coin”; and “Franzl and the
Emperor”—children discover the “founding fathers” of classical
music—Bach, Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert.
Our plays are based on the real lives of these composers, with only
slight alterations.
A
Recommendation for Performances
We suggest you limit your audience to no more than 120 children.
In order to appreciate the music, children must be able to hear it
clearly, see it being performed, and have an opportunity to interact.
Further children have to be prepared for the play. Therefore we played
mainly in schools.

$30,000. The licencing contract includes a 4 week teaching in our house
